Gender health center open house
On Saturday, April 6, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m., at Valley Health Center Downtown (777 E. Santa Clara St., San Jose, CA), the County of Santa Clara Office of LGBTQ Affairs in collaboration with Santa Clara Valley Medical Center (SCVMC) will host an Open House/Ribbon Cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of the Gender Health Center, the first and only clinic in the South Bay serving transgender, non-binary and gender diverse individuals of all ages. Everyone is invited to attend. This is an event for community to learn about the specialized resources available to transgender, non-binary, and gender diverse people and their families and friends. Staff and providers who work with transgender, non-binary and gender diverse community members are also encouraged to attend. Gender Health Center Staff will be on hand to answer questions and provide information regarding this unique ground-breaking resource. Also, there will be an opportunity for small group tours of the Gender Health Center.
The Gender Health Center offers a welcoming and safe space for transgender, non-binary and gender diverse people. The County of Santa Clara and SCVMC promotes a culture of safety and well-being for transgender, non-binary and gender diverse patients system-wide to address institutional and social barriers to care.
